National Cooperative Extension Project Websites
WordPress project sites are available to national groups or organizations actively working with the Extension Foundation (EXF) through one of its national funded programs. Additional requests may be approved on a case-by-case basis at EXF’s discretion.
Ownership and Maintenance
Each site must designate a responsible site owner.
The site owner is solely responsible for:
- All website content and design;
- Ongoing updates and maintenance; and
- Ensuring the site remains accurate, current, and compliant.
If the designated owner no longer wishes to administer the site, they must notify EXF at contact-us@extension.org so that ownership can be reassigned or the site disabled.
All sites must receive substantive content updates at least once every 12 months. Sites that are inactive, abandoned, or not maintained will be disabled and may be permanently deleted after six (6) months.
EXF conducts an annual review of all hosted sites.
Federal Compliance
Because these sites are supported in whole or in part with federal funds, they must comply with all applicable federal laws, regulations, executive directives, funding conditions, and agency guidance, including but not limited to accessibility requirements under Section 508 (WCAG 2.1 Level AA), civil rights statutes, and nondiscrimination requirements. The site owner is responsible for ensuring compliance. EXF reserves the right to require remediation, disable, or remove any site that presents compliance, legal, or reputational risk.
Funding for this service is supported in part by the New Technologies for Ag Extension cooperative agreement with USDA-NIFA, grant no. 2020-41595-30123.
