Extension Foundation Launches New Courses Platform
The Extension Foundation has launched Courses, a new online learning platform designed to support Extension education and make high-quality learning opportunities easier to deliver and access nationwide.
Built on Moodle 5.2, Courses will become the Extension Foundation’s primary learning management system, bringing online course delivery and registration into a single platform. The new system supports both free and paid courses and gives the Extension Foundation greater ability to manage platform development, technical support, upgrades, and future improvements directly.
Courses is the next evolution of the Foundation’s long-running learning management services. For approximately 20 years, the Extension Foundation has supported online Extension education through its Campus platform, with Catalog providing registration and e-commerce services. Those systems will remain available through June 30, 2027, while instructors transition their courses to the new platform.
The new platform provides instructors with access to newer Moodle capabilities, improved visibility into registrations and course transactions, and a more streamlined system for managing both free and paid educational offerings.
Courses is live now at courses.extension.org, and new users can create an account and begin exploring the platform.
Information for Current Campus Instructors
Extension professionals who currently manage courses in Campus have several options for transitioning their courses and will have until June 30, 2027, to complete the process.
The Extension Foundation has published a detailed transition announcement, timeline, migration options, and instructor resources at:

Additional instructor guidance and support will continue to be provided throughout the transition.
