Registration Now Open for January 2019 Impact Collaborative Facilitator Training & Development

To help our member institutions generate a more visible, measurable, local impact – we provide training and development in the Impact Collaborative innovation skill-building process to Extension professionals so they can take these skills back to their institutions and help their local project and program teams find more innovative ways to move institutional goals forward. With the help of our Facilitators, we can continue to help bring new innovation to the Cooperative Extension System.
This three-day training is designed to teach the Impact Collaborative Innovation Skill-Building Process and provide the skills necessary to facilitate this process in your own state and be equipped to serve as an invited facilitator of an Impact Collaborative state event and at our national Summit.
Each institution’s Director or Administrator may select one member to be a Designated Free Trainee. eXtension will cover the costs of travel, lodging, registration, meals/per diem for that designated member.

1890 Extension Leadership Academy

The 1890 Extension Leadership Academy kicked off on November 13th in Atlanta, GA. The purpose of this effort is to encourage cross-collaboration among states on important issues as related to program areas, as well as build essential leadership skills for this cohort. The Academy fosters the incubation, development, and implementation of innovative ideas in the 1890 communities towards creating measurable impact.
This six-month Academy began with a two-day innovation skill-building event from the Impact Collaborative to help participants representing 12 institutions from the 1890 Region learn an innovation process that they could use to accelerate their project and program teams back at their institutions.
Listen to what some participants had to say about their experience with the Impact Collaborative at the 1890 Extension Leadership Academy here.
University of California Division of Agriculture & Natural Resources hosts Impact Collaborative

As part of each member’s investment in eXtension, we are able to bring an innovation skill-building experience to each member institution contextualized specifically for the needs of the institution. The University of California Division of Agriculture & Natural Resources (UCANR) hosted the Impact Collaborative last week to work with their project and program teams to generate new ideas and work through our process to help achieve institutional goals. 11 teams from UCANR participated in the event.
During the event, over 250 new ideas were put through the process to enhance UCANR funding. Three teams had ideas that were the most ready for implementation now, and the remaining eight project teams will further develop their ideas at the two 2019 Impact Collaborative Summits or the two 2020 Summits.

Building Racial Equality in Cooperative Extension Webinar: Tools, Takeaways, and National Strategies

This webinar is sponsored by the eXtension Racial Equity in the Food System Workgroup and features the Impact Collaborative’s DEI Fellow, Dr. Shatomi Luster-Edward. This webinar will be beneficial to Impact Collaborative teams continuing to move their projects and programs towards implementation.
When?
Thursday, December 13th from 2 PM to 3:30 PM EST
Description from the eXtension Racial Equity in the Food System Workgroup:
The past several months have provided new opportunities for Cooperative Extension professionals to come together to help understand racial equity issues within their own organization as well as include racial equity into programs they conduct within communities. This webinar will highlight several tools, strategies, and takeaways from a panel that participated in the “Coming Together for Racial Understanding” week-long workshop in August 2018; this national workshop had Cooperative Extension participant teams from 20 states. We will also learn about the work of eXtension Foundation’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion fellow and a new eFieldbook resource.
Many of you are looking for a place to start including racial equity in your work and/or making connections with those who have had multiple learning experiences with racial equity and are already using it as a programming lens. We will use the majority of the webinar time to field participant questions and insights about integrating a lens of racial equity in the work of food systems, agriculture, health, and related content areas. Although the webinar panel is focused on Cooperative Extension learnings, the webinar is open to all educators in the food system who want to incorporate a racial equity lens in their work.
Sponsored by the eXtension Racial Equity in the Food System workgroup – A community of Cooperative Extension professionals and community stakeholders who connect, learn and collaborate to facilitate change within our institutions and society to build racial equity within the food system.
